Rady Shell Ticketing and Box Office FAQs

Subscription ticket QR codes are delivered digitally via The Shell mobile app or, upon request, can be printed and delivered via US Mail. Subscription tickets purchased prior to June 1 will be delivered no later than two weeks prior to the start of the summer season.
Subscription packages will include a $30 fee for all tickets in the subscription package, as well as any add-on tickets purchased in the same transaction. Individual concert tickets will include a $5 facility fee and a variable handling fee, based on the ticket price.
Individual concert ticket orders are recorded in The Shell mobile app immediately upon purchase, and the actual ticket QR code for entry is usually viewable immediately. Exceptions may include unseated subscription seats and an artist-requested reduction in the QR code viewing window.
Tickets can be transferred via The Shell mobile app. FOLLOW THIS LINK for instructions.
Print at home tickets and/or screenshots will not be admissible for entry.
Valid tickets purchased via third-party/resale website are admissible for entry, but the validity of tickets is only guaranteed for tickets purchased via official San Diego Symphony channels.
There is seating in the Mission Fed Community Green available for almost all Symphony-produced concerts with excellent visibility at the crest of our terraced seating area. These seats are limited to 300 per concert and tend to go quickly. (Note: Rental concerts and events may not necessarily have a Mission Fed Community Green section. Check the listing for details.) In general, low profile lawn chairs will be allowed in this section; however there will be exceptions for certain concerts in larger seating configurations. Please check the Calendar Event page to prepare for your experience. There will not be folding chairs available to rent at the venue, but blankets will be available for purchase if you don’t bring your own.
Seating options are expanded at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park to include two-top “couples” seating ("Parkside") plus a six-top terrace of tables perfect for groups and corporate entertaining ("San Diego Row" - call for details). Familiar four-top ("Marina") and single seat seating ("Bridgeview") from previous seasons will also be available. The quality of chair seating in all sections is enhanced.
The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park Box Office is open the following hours:
Weekdays: 10am - 6pm
Weekends: 12noon - 5pm
Concert Days: Noon - intermission
Please e-mail tickets@sandiegosymphony.org with your inquiry and a ticket office representative will reply as quickly as possible. To contact by phone, please call 619-235-0804. Wait times can be lengthy, making email the most efficient method of contacting a ticket office representative.
Lawn seating in the Mission Fed Community Green is strictly on a first-come, first served basis, and our gates always open at 5:30pm on concert nights in summer. This applies to subscribers and single ticket buyers of lawn seats alike - though subscribers are assured of seating if they have reserved in advance of single ticket sales. The gates of The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park concert site open at 5:30pm on concert days in summer, or 90 minutes before showtime in other parts of the year. Bring your own blanket or folding chair for the seating on the Green!
Subscribers may exchange a limited number of concerts in their subscription package by contacting the Ticket Office. Individual concert tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded. All sales are final.
Please email groups@sandiegosymphony.org to inquire about group ticket purchases.
Children age 2 and older must have a valid ticket for entry.
All concerts at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park will take place, rain or shine.
Yes you can, during regular business hours, but there is no waiving of handling fees at the JMC window, as there was in the past.
