Visiting During a Rehearsal

San Diego Symphony is delighted to share the behind-the-scenes rehearsal experience with the community. Please remember that these are working rehearsals for our professional musicians.

If you visit during a rehearsal:

  • Keep conversations quiet and limit noise from phones and electronic devices
  • Supervise children
  • Use the upper lawn away from the stage if children need space to move and play
  • Refrain from all photography, video, and audio recording. Taking photos or recording is strictly prohibited and may result in removal by security.

Thank you for helping us keep the rehearsal environment focused and respectful.

Group Visits During a Rehearsal

The San Diego Symphony welcomes groups to experience the orchestra at work during rehearsals at the Rady Shell at Jacobs Park. These visits offer a unique opportunity to observe the artistic process up close and to see how musicians and conductors collaborate as they prepare for performance.

Group rehearsal visits are a wonderful way for students, community organizations, and special interest groups to engage with the Symphony in an informal setting. To ensure the best possible experience for both our guests and the musicians, specific guidelines and requirements apply depending on the size and type of the visiting group.

Please review the information below for details based on your group size.

  • 15 people or fewer: No reservation required
  • 25+ people: A Park Permit is required (see below)
