Join us for Picnic at the Park and get an exclusive look at the concert lineup for the 2024 Conrad Prebys Summer Season at The Rady Shell, with subscription packages on sale the same day!

The free celebration will include performances by San Diego Symphony Orchestra musicians, and 2023 San Diego Music Award winners Rebecca Jade and Jeff Berkley and The Banned.

This is a lawn-only event; chairs will not be provided at the event. Attendees are welcome to bring their own picnics, blankets, and chairs for the day.

However, The Rady Shell will offer delectable food and beverage options from its food partners, delicious pizzas from Biga Pizza, a selection of tacos from Lola 55, Urban Kitchen, burgers and California fresh fare, and ice cream delights from locally owned Cali Cream, popcorn and fun snacks.

Richard Blais will be on site signing his newest cookbook Plant Forward by Jazmin and Richard Blais for those who would like to purchase his 100 bold recipes for a mostly healthy lifestyle.

About Rebecca Jade

Rebecca Jade is an accomplished singer/songwriter and has been able to turn her love for music into a career for close to two decades. Growing up in a musical home, she has been exposed to a broad range of artists, genres and styles from her mother, who is also a vocalist. With such influences, it seems a natural progression that Rebecca has followed in her footsteps. Rebecca Jade has performed with some of the most sought-after musicians and Artists all over the world, and her versatility has allowed her many unique opportunities to perform.

Rebecca tours with the Queen of Percussion, Sheila E. and appeared in the Emmy-nominated show, Let’s Go Crazy: The GRAMMY® Salute to Prince that aired on CBS in April 2020; She also sang background vocals for Sir Elton John at the 2020 Academy Awards; Rebecca has appeared as a repeat guest artist on the Dave Koz Cruises since 2016, and has been on the Dave Koz & Friends Christmas tour for three years in a row.

As an Artist, Rebecca Jade released her latest record, A Shade of Jade in 2022. She has earned two San Diego Music Awards in 2022 for “Best Music Video” & “Best R&B/Funk/Soul Song”. She also earned "Song of the Year" for 2021, & “Artist of the Year” for 2020. She is also a jazz vocalist and released an album of Cole Porter classics, titled Planet Cole Porter, with guitar virtuoso and arranger/producer Peter Sprague, which earned them a 2018 SDMA for “Best Jazz Album”. She was the front-woman for the soul/funk band, Rebecca Jade & the Cold Fact, and they collectively earned SDMAs in 2014, 2015 and 2017, and a “Best of San Diego” Award in 2016.

About Jeff Berkley & The Banned

Fronted by Kerrville New Folk award-winner and San Diego Music Hall-of-Famer Jeff Berkley, Jeff Berkley & The Banned is an all-star outfit comprised of some of San Diego’s most prolific and celebrated musicians. Berkley was honored as 2023 San Diego Music Awards’ Artist of the Year, and Jeff Berkley & The Banned’s full-length album, I Can Reach the Stars, was named Album of the Year. Berkley’s extensive career has been marked by collaborations with esteemed artists such as Jackson Browne, David Crosby, Ben Harper, Indigo Girls and Tim Flannery, among many others.

Jeff Berkley & The Banned’s core lineup includes Berkley on guitar and lead vocals, Rick Nash on bass, Josh Weinstein on keys, Josh Hermsmeier on drums, Ted Stern on pedal steel, Jason Cox on percussion and Cathryn Beeks on backing vocals, with occasional guest appearances by Sandi King and Joshua Taylor on additional backing vocals. This veteran band delivers Berkley’s classic Americana songwriting with an unapologetically exploratory improvisational flair.
