Ludwig van Beethoven’s powerful Symphony No. 7 is the centerpiece of this concert which includes a short work by rising American composer Carlos Simon, inspired by Beethoven’s symphony and by Beethoven’s own writings on the inevitability of fate. Ukrainian-born pianist Alexander Gavrylyuk is featured in Robert Schumann's only Piano Concerto.

NOTE: Gates will open at 5:30pm for the Friday 7pm concert, and will open at 4pm for the Saturday 5pm concert. Also NOTE: the piano concerto for this concert has changed from previously published materials.
